There’s a recent article on the “Strandings of Longman’s beaked whale (Indopacetus pacificus) in the Philippines” from the Journal of Cetacean Research and Management written by Jo Marie Acebes, DVM, PhD., Tadasu Yamada, Jennifer Poniente, Ayaka Matsuda, Ma. Louella Dolar, Marco Espiritu, Jose Ma. Lorenzo Tan, and Mudjekeewis Santos.
Along with the help of our trusty museum technicians and laboratory aides, I was able to take some photos of the huge specimen’s skull, vertebra, and teeth- among other things, and had the chance to help edit the photos and layout of figures on the article. Check out their study on the link below!
